Zak Beesley jumped to the top in the 1.40m in Opbglabbeek, Belgium, with Sharon Whiteway’s Ultima.
Seventy-six contended this speed section B class – split into two sections due to the large entry – with Zak forging ahead on the 15-year-old Casall/Locato mare to win by 1.67 sec. William Whitaker eased the Clearway 10-year-old RMF Charly into fourth 2.38 sec in arrears with Ashlee Harrison in fifth on Charity 41 and British-based Irishman Eoin Gallagher in 12th on Flugel M.
Brits gave their rides an easy trip out in the 76-entry 2* 1.40m speed section A with Robert Whitaker taking seventh on Cash Sent four sec behind the pace. Eoin slotted Davinci VD Bosrand Z immediately behind in eighth while steady clears from William on RMF Chacco Top and Jess Mendoza with Sam De Bacon earned 14th and 20th places.
Mackenzie Ray claimed fifth in the 106-entry 1.30m two-phase with Valse De Boguin, the 10-year-old Diamant De Semilly mare finishing 2.48 sec behind the winner. Ashley Ray guided Apart P into 12th with Peter Moloney on Diego in 16th and Camilla Bingham was also double clear for 21st on Feliano B.
Tom Whitaker eased the Cordess 2 six-year-old Clever Boy Jun into seventh in the 96-strong five-year-old 1.15m/six-year-old 1.25m two-phase almost four sec behind the winning time. Cressy Neads also came home on a double clear to take 20th on Amazone Narko Z.
Jess posted a double clear in the 42-horse seven-year-old two-phase to put I-Cap CI Z (I’m Special De Muze/Air Jordan) into 14th spot more than nine sec off the pace.
