Jack Whitaker is in the money in France

Jack Whitaker jumped into sixth spot in the 3* 1.50m in Valence, France, with Arlo De Blondel.

Fifty-three contended this world ranking speed class with Jack jumping an easy clear on the Dollar Dela Pierre nine-year-old to finish 3.07 sec behind the winner, Belgium’s Pieter Clemens on Caldero.

And Robert Whitaker also picked up a second place in the 28-horse 3* 1.40m with Strides Hattons Treasure, the Billy Mexico 10-year-old 0.56 sec off the pace.  Michael Whitaker rode a steady round on Freud Del Cabanon Cavalier – Pro to pick up two time faults for 15th.

John Whitaker was one of seven on one time fault and denied a jump-off chance in the 1.45m and he took ninth on the Zandor 11-year-old Unick De Francport.  France’s Harold Boisset headed the eight-horse jump-off with T’Obetty Du Domaine by a clear three sec. 

Christina Gachoud eased ESI Hazel into third in the 1* 1.25m speed, the Lux Z 11-year-old finishing 1.60 sec behind the winner.  A slower round from Amelie Gachoud earned The Precious One sixth place.

Amelie slotted the Cayetano L 14-year-old Charity 33 into fourth in the 11-strong 1* 1.15m speed more than eight sec off the pace.


Robert Smith jumped into second in the 3* 1.40m with Carron Nicol’s Conlando 55 in Verbier, Switzerland.

Forty-nine contended this two-phase class with Robert and the nine-year-old finishing 2.30 sec behind the winner, Italy’s Natale Chiaudani on Cintender.  Julie Andrews was clear in round one but retired in the jump-off to take 15th on Madinah.

Alison Barton guided Roma IV into fifth in the 57-strong 3* 1.50m.  Eleven reached the jump-off with Alison and the 12-year-old mare just over three sec behind the pace.  Julie Andrews returned on four faults with Ayrton IV to drop to eighth.

An easy clear eight sec off the pace handed Helen Tredwell and the Luidam six-year-old 11th place in the young horse six and seven-year-old 1.30m speed.

Amelie Villeneuve-Moore jumped an easy double clear to take 11th in the 35-horse amateur 1.15m two-phase with Compadre almost four sec off the pace.



In Zandhoeven, Belgium, Chloe Winchester guided Arco D’Obercourt into fourth in the 78-horse 3* 1.40m speed, the Darco/For Pleasure nine-year-old finishing 0.91 sec off the pace.

Sam Hutton jumped an easy clear in the 57-strong 3* 1.50m speed to slot he nine-year-old mare Centuria 7 into ninth spot seven sec behind the pace.
