Billy Twomey jumps to a win in Dinard

Billy Twomey jumped straight to the top in the 5* 1.55m with Chat Botte ED in Dinard, France.

Forty-five tackled this speed class but British-based Irishman Billy smoothly executed all the shortcuts on the 11-year-old Casall/Darco stallion to take victory by 1.44 sec.

Laura Renwick jumped an easy clear on the Vigaro 11-year-old Dublin V – recently selected for the British team and the European championships – to take sixth in the 45-strong 5* 1.45m speed, finishing 3.77 sec behind the winner, the USA’s Kristen Venderveen on Bull Run’s Faustino De Tili.

Sarah Jackson piloted the Arko/Wolfgang eight-year-old Follyfoot Arkadia into fourth in the 32-horse 1* 1.15m speed almost four sec behind the pace.

Chloe Page claimed eighth in the 43-strong 1* 1.25m on Lord Boy 14 sec behind the pace.

In Samorin, Slovakia, Jamie Wingrove eased Radioactive II into sixth in the 2* 1.45m speed, the Casall/Quidam De Revel 11-year-old finishing 7.21 sec behind the pace. Four faults dropped Lance Whitehouse and Alex H down to 13th.

Easy rounds in the 4* 1.40m earned Stacey Babes (Castlefield) and Jack Whitaker (Scenletha) eighth and 10th places on one time fault and two time faults respectively.

Josie Symons netted third in the junior 1.35m speed with the Quartz II Adelheid Z 10-year-old Quidde De Buisson Z 0.72 sec off the pace.

Katie Whitehead claimed fourth in the 1* 1.15m two-phase with the consistent Phin Phin seven-year-old HSE Grand Slam 3.59 sec behind the pace.
