Graham Babes scored a win in Mannheim, Germany, with Glencoe in the 3* 1.40m. The mammoth 122 competitors were split into two groups because of sheer numbers with Graham galloping ahead in the second group to win on the Chellthago Z/Numero Uno eight-year-old with 0.88 sec in hand. Georgia Tame and Z Caretina also posted a clear for 14th place.
Amy Inglis finished 13th in Friday’s 3* 1.40m speed on Jule Van Den Tinnenpot on two time faults.
Matt Sampson missed out on victory by a tiny margin in the 2* 1.40m in Bonheiden, Belgium.
Seventy-two tackled this speed track with Matt and the Nabab De Reve/Voltaire nine-year-old Firefly just 0.11 sec behind the winner for the runner-up spot. Laura Mantel slotted Sally Jobson-Scott’s Cornet Obolensky/Nabab De Reve seven-year-old Muna VD Bisschop into third.
Chloe Aston galloped to the top in the six-year-old 1.20m with Nistria Chanti Z, the Nabab De Reve/Diamant De Semilly mare heading the eight-strong decider by a handsome 3.56 sec. Four faults dropped Matt and Ivory – already a double winner here – from a possible second to sixth.
Laura reached the 22-horse jump-off of the 73-strong 2* 1.45m with Glory B V but four faults in round two dropped the pair to 14th place.
Scarlette Norman clinched second in the 1* 1.05m two-phase with In Time, the Winningmood 11-year-old only 0.17 sec behind the winner.
Four faults in the first round of the five-year-old 1.10m put Paul Gaff’s Jonagold and Carmen Edwards with Edena Mouche into third and fourth as only two clears were produced in this 10-horse class.
