Matt Sampson hit his usual flying form to take the 2* 1.40m two-phase on Firefly W in Opglabbeek, Belgium.
Eighty-seven contended this class with Matt forging ahead on the Nabab De Reve/Voltaire nine-year-old to win by 0.80 sec. Jess Dimmock guided the Tangelo Van De Zuuthoeve eight-year-old Billy Fleance into sixth spot 1.75 sec in arrears and steadier double clears from Flo Norris on Teck De Riverland and Olivia Howe’s Evita earned 15th and 16th.
Four faults in the first round of the 55-horse 2* 1.45m put Matt and Cristo Beech into 15th.
India Payne scored a win in the 60-strong 1* 1.20m two-phase flying into the top spot with 0.72 sec to spare on the eight-year-old Kannan daughter Ballerine De Ravel. Joe Davison also posted a double clear for fifth on the seven-year-old Venezia (Cardento/Nabab De Reve) 1.76 sec in arrears.
Claire Salem joined the nine-strong jump-off of the 37-entry 1* 1.35m grand prix but four faults in round two dropped Meteoor into ninth.
William Maxwell came home clear in the 29-horse 1* 1.30m speed for sixth on Quantino, the Quarz/Coriano eight-year-old finishing 6.37 sec behind the pace.
Billy Twomey guided Gentleman into third place in the 2* 1.40m in St Tropez.
Sixteen of the 70 starters contended the jump-off with Billy and the Vigaro/Phin Phin eight-year-old finishing five sec behind the winner. Four faults dropped fellow British-based Irishman Michael Duffy and Zilton SL Z down to 12th.
Michael also returned on four faults in the 11-strong jump-off of the world ranking 4* 1.45m to take eighth with Touchdown 14-year-old Mullaghdrin Touch The Stars.
