Louise Saywell flies to a win on day one in Kronenberg

Louise Saywell claimed another win at what must be her favourite venue in Holland – Peelbergen at Kronenberg.

Eighty-seven competitors contended the 1* 1.30m two-phase but no-one could catch Louise on Jane Heerbeck’s Carolus K DHI and the Indoctro/Gran Corrado 12-year-old forged ahead to win by 0.61 sec.

Louise also featured in the 1.45m speed, claiming eighth spot on Golden Wave OL in the 84-entry class, the Nartago 11-year-old finishing 2.81 sec behind the winner, The Netherlands’ Leopold van Asten on VDL Groep Beauty. Sam Hutton returned a steady clear for 18th on Aramis 573.

Emily Ward posted an easy double clear in the 78-strong 3* 1.40m two-phase, the Cornet Obolensky/Pilot 15-year-old finishing 2.85 sec off the pace. William Maxwell was also penalty-free to slot Chadonna Z into 11th.

Emily also jumped a double clear in the 62-horse seven-year-old 1.30m two-phase on Tilla Flamenco (Je T’Aime Flamenco/Hattrick) for 12th more than five sec behind the winner.
