Louise Saywell claimed victory in the 1* 1.30/1.35m grand prix with Tiger De Old Lodge on the final day of week two in Kronenberg, The Netherlands.
Only 10 of the 52 starters produced round one clears to access the jump-off and Louise hit form on the nine-year-old Padinus/Cassini II stallion to take the win with 0.49 sec to spare. Nick Benterman also posted a double clear for seventh on Shiraz II, a 10-year-old Vagabond De La Pomme daughter formerly ridden by Laura Renwick.
Jamie Wingrove is fast developing a rapport with new ride Happydam and posted a double clear in the feature 2* 1.45m grand prix. Fifteen of the 60 starters went forward to the jump-off with Jamie jumping another clear in a hotly-contended decider on the 12-year-old Quidam De Revel/Narcos II stallion to finish seventh 3.72 sec behind the winner, Germany’s Christian Ahlmann on the eye-catching Diamant De Semilly stallion Dominator 2000 Z. Four faults in round one put Louise and Jalelllah OL into 19th.
Already a double winner this week, Douglas Duffin and the nine-year-old Clinton daughter Fan had to settle for fifth on the final day in the 2* 1.35/1.40m. The consistent pair again provided a double clear to finish 1.73 sec behind the winner.
Victoria Hewson headed the 27-entry 1* 1.20m speed with Zenas Flight, the eight-year-old Lancelot mare jumping to the top with 3.39 sec in hand. Francesca Grazebrook guided the Tygo nine-year-old Felicita into fourth and William Maxwell was also clear on Led Green for ninth.
Annabelle Brown eased the Luidam eight-year-old Lissyegan Luise Royal into third in the 31-strong 1* 1.30m two-phase 2.37 sec off the pace. Clear and four dropped Jasmin Head and Harsha down to 13th.
