Louise Saywell is on the crest of a wave in Kronenberg
Louise Saywell hit form in Peelbergen in Kronenberg, The Netherlands, winning the evening’s feature class with Golden Wave OL.
Seventy-one initially tackled this 1.45m class and 2* grand prix qualifier with 17 jumping round one clears to access the jump-off. And Louise forged ahead with Sultan Saud’s Nartago 11-year-old mare to win with 0.69 sec in hand over The Netherlands’ Eric Van Der Vleuten on Wunschkind 19,
Louise Saywell claimed third in the 2* 1.40m medium two-phase on Jane Heerbeck’s Carolus K DHI in a strong 79-horse class, Louise and the Indoctro/Gran Corrado 12-year-old finishing 0.61 sec off the pace. A steadier double clear from Deborah Jackson on Chicca earned 10th spot.
Louise also jumped into second in the 1* 1.30m with Sharp Image. Seventy started in this two-phase class with Louise guiding the Calvados Z 10-year-old finishing 1.12 sec behind the winner.
Jackson Reed-Stephenson rode Exception into third in the 2* 1.35m two-phase, the Vagabond De La Pomme nine-year-old finishing 1.29 sec behind the pace. Douglas Duffin was slightly in arrears for fifth with the nine-year-old Clinton mare Fan and Jamie Wingrove was also double clear for 19th on Genesis HB.
Tom Whitaker claimed sixth in the 28-entry young horse 1.30m speed on Happiness, the Untouchable 27 seven-year-old finishing 2.76 sec off the pace. Deborah and Puma jumped into 10th place.
Deborah picked up fifth in the 14-strong five and six-year-old speed on the six-year-old Iniesta V (Zambesi/No Limit) six sec behind the pace. James Billington claimed seventh on Insider VDL with Olivia Skinner eighth aboard Costal Del Sol B Z and Tom guided Pepper Poga into ninth.
Jasmin Head eased the Zambesi/Lupicor seven-year-old Harsha into ninth in the 44-horse 1* 1.20m two-phase almost six sec behind the pace. Annabelle Brown was close on her heels for 10th with Sun View Star and Christina Gachoud jumped a steady double clear for 17th on Lopez 39.
