Jay Buxton eased High Offley Arturos Catch into second in the 2* 1.40m at the popular show in Kronenberg, The Netherlands.
A large entry of 97 tackled this speed class with Jay and the British-bred Arturo 8 15-year-old finishing 2.72 sec off the pace. James Wilson guided the 10-year-old Nabab De Reve daughter Townhead Imagine De Muze into seventh and steady clears from Louise Saywell with Charina and Ben Clark’s Valentino earned 20th and 22nd places.
Louise Saywell claimed fourth in the 2* 1.40m speed with Sultanah in a mammorth 105-strong class, the eight-year-old Quintus/Voltaire mare 3.62 sec behind the winner. A steadier round from Robert Smith and El Capone finished 13th.
Louise Simpson jumped into second in the seven-year-old 1.25m two-phase with Starouge (Stakkatol/Papillon Rouge), finishing just 0.28 sec behind the pace. Tim Wilks took fifth on Loeki Van Het Lindehof in the 51-strong class with Carron Nicol ninth on the Diamant De Semilly stallion Galerius and Louise was also double clear for 17th aboard Gentleman.
Olivia Howe claimed fourth in the 49-horse 1* 1.20m two-phase with the Catwalk Van De Helle/Toulon 11-year-old Black Label 3.56 sec behind the pace. Tom Monaghan was close behind for fifth with the Guidam 11-year-old Cooley Elusive, Freya Hough finished 10th on Frensham, James steered Gainesboro into 13th and Leo Lamb was 14th on Kardentox Van Het Gevahof.
Tess Carmichael on Chisinau W Z and Lillie Caluori aboard Lanverdel posted the steadiest double clears in the 1.10m two-phase to take seventh and eighth.
In Lier, Belgium, William Whitaker claimed third in the 2* 1.40m section A with Lammy Beach.
Seventy-six contended this speed class, a qualifier for the grand prix, with William and the Beach Ball/Coevers Diamond 10-year-old finishing 1.82 sec behind the winner, France’s Robinson Maupiler on Talika Des Isles.
Joe Clee finished seventh in the B section of the 1.40m speed on the Optimum V/D Wellington 15-year-old Alzu Ohio more than four sec behind the pace.
Joe jumped into fifth in the five and six-year-old two-phase with Diego Maradonna 111 Z, the Der Senaat 111/Action Breaker six-year-old finishing 1.01 sec off the pace. Tamarin Christie guided the Zambesi six-year-old Hieke into 11th and Jess Mendoza was also double clear for 22nd on I-Cap CL Z.
A steady double clear handed Joe 19th place with the Tyson seven-year-old Thunder G Z in the 71-strong 1.35m two-phase.
