Tom Whitaker guided Happiness into second in the 67-strong five and six-year-old two-phase in Opglabbeek, Belgium.
Tom and the six-year-old Untouchable 27 daughter finished 0.89 sec behind the winner. Nicola Barry was hot on their heels with Sovereign Equestrian’s Balloon/World Way six-year-old Be Caprivi for third with Tamarin Christie (Heike) and Emily Ward (Tilla Flamenco) also returning double clears for 10th and 20th.
Tamarin was also penalty-free on Ari De Kreisker for eighth in the 30-horse seven-year-old two-phase, the Centadel/Landadel stallion 2.39 sec off the pace.
Steady double clears were the order of the day for the Brits in the 83-entry 1.30m two-phase. Christopher Frazer claimed seventh on Cassata 4 1.42 sec behind the pace, Nicola finished 14th with Sovereign Equestrian’s Chacco Blue/Manhattan 10-year-old True Blue III and Harry Charles claimed 18th on the 13-year-old Vivaldi Du Dom.
Graham Gillespie guided Andretti into 11th in the 68-entry 2* 1.40m section A speed, the Acodetto/Candillo 12-year-old almost 10 sec off the pace. Christopher Frazer also posted a steady clear for 22nd on Quisandro.
Emily Ward jumped a steady clear on Remi Cavalleri in the section B 1.40m, the 12-year-old Handel II daughter finishing in 17th place. Jack Whitaker on Scenletha and Amy Inglis with Jule Van Den Tinnenpot also posted easy clears to finish down the line in the 68-strong class.
