Jane Annett jumps to a win in Spain

Jane Annett topped the silver 1.25m speed with the 10-year-old Hermes De Reve daughter Sligo Hermes Touch in Oliva Nova, Spain. The pair claimed the win with 0.92 sec to spare in the 68-horse class.

Jodie Hall-McAteer guided the Caretino 13-year-old Crisanta into fourth with Kayleigh Watts in fifth and sixth on the Nonstop 10-year-old Ninkie De Vy Z and nine-year-old Ebriolita. Flo Norris was also clear on Donatella L’Espoir and Teck De Riverland for 15th and 20th and Jodie finished 17th with second ride Carabelle.

Jane almost made it a double but couldn’t catch Germany’s David Will on Charly 1595 in the seven-year-old 1.35m two-phase and had to settle for second and third on Hold Up (Diarado/Courage II) and My Lady OL (Armitage/Landlord). Jane also picked up fifth on third ride Billy Tudor with the steadiest of the double clears.

Ben Maher jumped into third in the gold 1.45m speed with Cirus Du Ruisseau Z. Forty-one contended with Ben and the Chellano Z/Carthago Z eight-year-old finishing 2.05 sec behind the winner, France’s Julien Epaillard on Safari D’Auge.

Kerry Brennan steered the 15-year-old Wellington M into fifth and Ashlee Harrison clocked just one time fault for ninth with Charity 41.

Emily Mason finished second and third in the six-year-old 1.25m two-phase with the selle Francais stallion Cash Du Plessis and Light Blue 3 (Light On/Cayetano L) as Brazil’s Caio Carvallo Filho raced away with the win by more than two and a half sec on Caramba. Jane on Quissini LS and Christina Gachoud with Lopez 39 also returned double clears for fifth and eighth.

Jodie jumped into eighth with the nine-year-old Consul De Vi Z stallion Coquin De Coquerie Z in the 52-strong gold 1.40m speed three sec off the pace. Christina on Empire Van Wuitenshof took 15th and also clear was Jane on Chacco Gold, Emily with Don Vito and Scott Brash’s Hello M’Lord for 18th, 19th and 20th.

Jodie also slotted the Vincenzo 11-year-old Colette into 11th in the 36-entry silver 1.35m speed.

Emily Moffitt finished eighth in the gold 1.30m speed with Zagahorn, the Matterhorn/Wolfgang 14-year-old 3.31 sec off the pace. Taisie de Gruchy was 12th on Winner of Picobello Z with Alice Watson 13th on Billy Lemon and Sarah Barker took 18th aboard Vifdeva in the 67-strong class.

Bethanie Knight finished fourth in the five-year-old 1.15m two-phase with Lupin, the Lupe/Libero H mare 2.16 sec behind the pace. India Payne was the steadiest of the double clears for 10th on Iwalinde.
