Nicole Lockhead Anderson lifted the pony 1.30m with Gangnam Style II at Sentower Park’s Youth finals in Opglabbeek, Belgium.
The Brits were mob-handed in the jump-off with four riders in the six-pony decider with Nicole taking charge to win by 0.13 sec on the consistent Irish-bred nine-year-old. Lily Freeman-Attwood was 0.44 sec in arrears for third on the nine-year-old French mare Valmy De Treille and Perdi Digby was also clear for fifth on Kayleighs Star. In typically speedy style, Shaunie Greig was more than three sec faster than the winner but a rail down on Casino Royale dropped them to sixth.
Shaunie made no such mistake in the five-pony jump-off of the 1.15m, racing ahead to win on Granouche with with more than four sec to spare. Ella Quigley finished third with the steadiest of the double clears on Seamus and Nicole claimed fifth with Vigo.
Jodie Hall McAteer eased Coquin Du Coquerie Z into third in the junior 1.40m, the Consul DI Vie Z nine-year-old finishing 2.75 sec behind the pace. Ben Clark was also double clear for seventh on Valentino.
One mistake in round one of the junior 1.30m denied Ben a jump-off chance and the Thunder Van De Zuuthoeve nine-year-old Jancovica finished eighth as the quickest four-faulter.
Atiya Bussey posted the steadiest of the double clears with the Chippendale Z 12-year-old Chesterfield Z to take seventh in the children-on-horses 1.25m. Fou faults dropped Iewan Carpenter down to 11th with Jordanta Van De Eyckenhoeve in the 13-strong jump-off.
Four faults in the four-strong jump-off of the childrens 1.15m dropped Jasmin Clark from victory to third on the Ustinov 11-year-old Curosa III.
