William Whitaker is a winner in Lier

William Whitaker jumped to the top in Lier, Belgium, with Furmint. 

Eighty-eight contended the 2* 1.40m two-phase section A with William and the Ustinov/Claudio’s Son nine-year-old Furmint outpacing all to take the win by 0.42 sec.

David McPherson eased the Lord Z/Darco eight-year-old into third in the 1.40m section B 1.11 sec behind the winner.  William was double clear on the Zurich nine-year-old Junior Van Het Hulst for 11th place.

David eased Camall into eighth in the 81-strong 2* 1.35m two-phase, the Casall/Capitol I nine-year-old finishing 4.52 sec off the pace.   

And David also finished 14th in the 47-horse seven-year-old two-phase on the Falco gelding Marvin Van De Waterhoeve more than eight sec off the pace.

Sisters Ellie and Jodie Hall-McAteer picked up places with double clears in the 1* 1.20m two-phase, Ellie taking 12th on the 10-year-old Nonstop mare Ninkie De Vy Z and Jodie in 18th on thr stolzenberg nine-year-old Salt’N Peppa.

Jodie guided Coquin De Coquerie Z into seventh in the 1.30m two-phase, the nine-year-old Consul Di Vie Z stallion finishing3.63 sec behind the winner.  Mattie Lanni was also double clear for 21 st on Newbridges Master Brown.

Sophie Pulleyn jumped into fourth in the 1* 1.10m two-phase with the steadiest of the double clears on the Warrant/Air Jordan Z nine-year-old Exclusive VI five sec off the pace.  Claire Salem picked up one time fault on Cicero D Epic for fifth.
