Guy Williams takes another win

August 17, 2018

Guy Williams is on fire in Deauville, France. Twenty-four hours after heading the 1.45m with Rouge De Ravel, the consistent pair topped the world ranking 3* 1.50m.

Only 11 of 68 starters produced round one clears to access the jump-off with Guy and the 13-year-old Ultimo Van Ter Mouse stallion Rouge forging ahead to take victory with exactly one second to spare.  Four faults dropped Will Fletcher and the 13-year-old Persimmon down to eighth.

Olli Fletcher eased Disckoboy DN into sixth in the 3* 1.40m two-phase, the Ard VDL Douglas/Silverstone 10-year-old finishing 2.59 sec behind the winner, France’s speedy Patrice Delaveau on Uthope De La Roque HDC.  Olli also jumped a steadier double clear on the 11-year-old Temple Rebus for 19th.

Amy Duncan claimed ninth in the 1* 1.30m speed with the Indoctro 13-year-old Adagio II 7.61 sec behind the pace.  Louise Morley was also clear on the 18-year-old Marcolas G for 12th.

Ritchie Heaney took ninth in the 1* 1.15m two-phase on the seven-year-old Catoo/Cassini II mare Catoka more than four sec off the pace.  Guy Hodgson was also penalty-free for 12th on the six-year-old Count Hunter.
