Peter Moloney is in the money in Beervelde

Peter Moloney jumped Elvis Van De Vrunte into second At Flander Horse Show, Beervelde, Belgium.

Fifty-nine tackled the 2* 1.30m two-phase with British-based Irishman Peter guiding the Oleander Van De Herkkant 14-year-old to finish 1.88 sec behind the pace and take the runner-up spot. 

Fellow Irishman, Sussex-based David Simpson, commandeered third place in the 3* 1.50m speed on Charlotte Platt’s home-bred Jenson 55 at their second show together.  Fifty-three contended here with David easing the 10-year-old Verdi/Padinus stallion into third to finish 0.88 sec behind the winner, Belgium’s Christophe Vanderhasselt on Caroline TZ.

Angelie von Essen took sixth on the Cardento nine-year-old Estella and Alison Barton was also clear for ninth on the 11-year-old Roma IV.


David claimed fourth in the 3* 1.35m two-phase on the 10-year-old Vaillant daughter Liberty 348 2.36 sec off the pace. 

Shane O’Reilly on Zerbin VDH Z (ZAndor/Voltaire) and Richard Barton with Be Cool Harry (Cayado/Casall) picked up four faults in the second phase of the six-year-old to finish eighth and ninth.

Shane also finished fifth in the 45-strong seven-year-old 1.35m two-phase with Birdy Du Thot (Magic D Elle/Le Tot De Semilly) 0.74 sec off the pace.

Four faults in the second phase of the 1* 1.10m dropped Ashley Ray and the Balou Du Rouet 13-year-old Fleur Du Rouet down to 12th.
