Jamie Wingrove jumped into second in the 1.45m speed on Ephonie P in Samorin, Slovakia.
Forty-eight contended this 2* grand prix qualifier with Jamie and the Vingino/Mermus R nine-year-old finishing 1.03 sec behind the winner, Belgium’s Boy-Adrian van Gelderen on Be Cool. Lance Whitehouse on Whitesparke Blanko and Katie Pytches aboard Jolie Fleur Van De Noordheuvel also posted clears for 19th and 20th.
Chloe Winchester claimed victory in the 2* 1.40m speed on Charming Fellow Z, the nine-year-old Clinton stallion taking the win by just 0.09 sec in the hotly-contended 40-strong class.
And Chloe claimed fifth and seventh places in the 2* 1.35m two-phase on the Sandro Boy 11-year-old Sheyenne 27 and the Asca Z 11-year-old Alena. Jamie was ninth on Ashdale Luxon and Ashlee Harrison was also double clear for 12th on Atout Des Trembles.
Jay Buxton guided High Offley Arturos Catch into fifth place in the 4* 1.40m speed, the Arturo 8 15-year-old finishing 4.88 sec behind the pace in the 35-strong class.
One time fault in the world ranking 1.50m grand prix qualifier denied Jay a jump-off chance and put the 11-year-old Strides Hilansterne into 16th. Jamie picked up four faults on Bart VI for 20th.
Sam Hutton eased the Tinkas Boy seven-year-old L’Avonture VD Oude Molenhoeve into fifth in the 2* 1.25m two-phase 3.41 sec off the pace. Giorgia Distefano claimed seventh on the It’s the Business seven-year-old Kimba and Sam was also double clear on second ride Hurbie – a Toulon six-year-old – for 14th.
Giorgia also picked up eighth in the 1* 1.30m two-phase on Cassia DS, the Cassiano nine-year-old almost six sec off the pace.
Carmen Edwards took seventh on the Nervoso sired Da Vinci Massuere with clear and four in the five-year-old.
Sophie Garfield-Bennett finished 11th in the 1* 1.25m speed on the 11-year-old mare Cirmosa and Olivia Skinner returned on one time penalty for 13th on the six-year-old Harov.
