Richard Barton is best Brit in the world ranking class in Moorsele

Fresh from his Welsh Masters victory, Richard Barton slotted Donata into fourth in the world ranking 1.45m in Moorsele, Belgium. 

Twenty-five of the 78 starters accessed round two with Richard and Gay Hartley’s Ukato 10-year-old mare finishing 2.85 sec behind the winner, Belgium’s Karline de Brabander on Fantomas De Muze. Four faults dropped Jemma Kirk and Vagabon Des Forets to 20th.





Louise Simpson rode the Lord Z/Darco nine-year-old Jaffar De Bourguignon into the top spot in the 46-strong 3* 1.35m two-phase claiming a 1.72 sec advantage.  Jemma eased Astrale Du Launay into third 3.25 sec off the pace.







Steven Franks was denied a 1.40m victory by a fraction with Abdul Aziz.  Eighty-three contended this two-phase class with Steven and the Diamant De Semilly 14-year-old jumping into the runner-up spot just 0.30 sec in arrears of the winner, Belgium’s Virginie Thonon on High Tech Vy De Septon.  Laura Renwick eased Sharon Whiteway’s Novita Jovial Z into sixth with Peter Moloney 10th on Babilonia and his fellow Irishman David Simpson in 12th on Chessy 17.  Louise was 15th on Felix X and William Whitaker was also double clear on Fandango for 21st.

Steven claimed a win in the 1* 1.20m speed with the Billy Congo/Gladstone 12-year-old Billy Ginger with a 0.90 sec advantage.  Olivia Gillespie jumped into fifth on Carracasca B and Jessie Drea took sixth with Amazon JD and also posted a steadier clear on Ciao Bella Van Overis Z for 18th.

Alicia Page was also a winner, topping the 1* 1.10m on the Ard VDL Douglas 12-year-old Twitter by 0.33 sec. 

Tim Page jumped a double clear in the 34-strong five and six-year-old two-phase on the Pacino five-year-old Hillcoote Border Fox for 12th.
