Adam Botham is denied a win by a tiny fraction in Mantes la Jolie

Adam Botham was a fraction away from victory on day one in Mantes la Jolie, France, taking second in the 2* 1.30m with Dakota.

Sixty-three tackled this two-phase class with Adam and the Andiamo/Vancouver 10-year-old just 0.18 sec behind the winner, France’s Cedric Hurel and Paola Du Terrior.  Nicola Barry was also double clear on Sovereign Equestrian’s Chacco Blue 10-year-old True Blue III for sixth place.

Adam also picked up fourth in the 94-horse 1* 1.30m speed on Flipper Nouvelle, the Flipper D’Elle eight-year-old finishing 4.76 sec behind the pace.

Jess Botham guided Utah’s Utopia into fifth in the 1* 1.20m, the 12-year-old Utah Van Erpekom mare finishing 2.51 sec off the pace.  Vicky Laing was also penalty-free for 16th on the 10-year-old Quotender.
