The Brits are unbeatable in Oliva Nova
The Brits were on fire in Oliva Nova, Spain, heading all three young horse finals on the MET IV tour.
Jane Annett posted a win in the seven-year-old, where 15 of the 28 starters posted round one clears to go forward into round two. And Jane guided the Armitage 2/Landlord mare My Lady OL into the top spot by just 0.09 sec. Four faults dropped Megan James down to 13th on Billy Zingo.
Adrian Whiteway jumped to the top in the six-year-old final with Cooley Network.
Half the class produced first round clears with 18 of the 35 starters going forward to round two with Adrian and the Boswell Mr Heart Breaker/Coronado gelding claiming victory by 0.16 sec.
Barry Drea eased the home-bred Billy Mexico gelding Okehurst Mr Mexico into second with Mackenzie Ray sixth on the Mylord Carthago/Clinton mare Himanji and Megan James was the steadiest of the double clears aboard Mendocino (Zambesi/Papillon Rouge) for 12th.
Maisie Drea and the consistent Caro Z claimed their second young horse final in Oliva. The pair had headed the MET III tour five-year-old final just a few weeks earlier.
Eleven of the 23 starters reached the jump-off but Maisie had all the tight turns sewn up on the Clinitissmo Z/Renkum Valentino mare to take the title with 0.16 in hand.
Jamie Wingrove rode into third place on Iniesta KS (I’m Special De Muze/Larino). Adrian slotted the Chacco Blue/Carthago stallion Chacco Volo into fifth with Kimberly White posting the steadiest of the double clears for seventh on Ivanhoe GPH (Marome NW/Indorado).
