Lily Freeman-Attwood and the seven-year-old Capability Brown proved unbeatable in the big tour pony 1.30m at Sentower Park’s youth festival in Opglabbeek, Belgium.
Eighteen contended this speed class with Lily forging ahead on this Irish-bred pony with a brain way beyond his young years to take victory with 0.82 sec in hand. The pair had taken the seven-year-old title at the Pony of the Year Show just a few day earlier, and this pony is certainly one to watch in the future.
Fresh from their POYS grand prix win, Lily Freeman-Attwood and Valmy De Treille jumped into fourth place in the pony 1.35m on day one.
Sixty-four contended this speed class with Lily and the French-bred nine-year-old mare finishing 2.36 sec behind the winner. Lily also slotted Capability Brown into eighth and Perdi Digby was also clear to claim 13th on Kayleighs Star.
Lily and Valmy moved one place higher in day two’s pony 1.30m. Eighteen ponies contended this speed class with Lily posting the fastest time of the class, but a rail down dropped her to third spot. Perdi also returned on four with Kayleighs Star for fourth.
Flo Norris returned a double clear in the 69-strong junior 1.35m two-phase for 13th on Imago VD Heffinck, the 10-year-old finishing more than five sec behind the pace.
