Guy Williams hits winning form in Moorsele
Guy Williams hit immediate form in Moorsele, Belgium, winning the 3* 1.35m two-phase on Rouge De Ravel.
It was no fluke as 91 contended, but Guy lived up to his speedster reputation to push the 13-year-old French-bred stallion into the top spot by just 0.05 sec. Guy also rode Dalton D’Hoyo into sixth with David Simpson 13th on Chessy 17, just ahead of wife Louise in 14th aboard First Colt. Oliver Tuff jumped into 14th on Darino B and William Whitaker (Fandango) and Donna Callaghan (Freek VT Scharenborg) posted steadier double clears to finish down the line.
Laura Renwick forged ahead with Arkuga to claim the seven-year-old two-phase, the home-bred Arko gelding out of Laura’s speed mare Beluga winning by 0.15 sec. William posted a steadier double clear for 11th on Liarada S.
Steven Franks slotted the 12-year-old Billy Congo daughter Billy Ginger into third in the 1* 1.25m two-phase, just 0.09 sec behind the winner. Nicole Pavitt guided the home-bred Don VHP Z eight-year-old Paris 16 into fifth with Justin Tuff on Dieter in 11th and Jessie Drea was also double clear for 21st on Castle Be Quick.
Donna Callaghan eased Hamalinde P into 12th in the five and six-year-old two-phase seven sec behind the pace.
