Robert Smith is less than a second from victory at Saut Hermes

Robert Smith jumped into second in the 5* 1.45m two-phase in Paris at Saut Hermes with Cimano E. Forty-six contended here with Robert guiding the Unaniem 11-year-old into the runner-up position 0.71 sec off the pace. Switzerland’s Romain Duguet claimed the win on Twentytwo Des Biches. A steadier double clear – some five sec slower – put Michael Whitaker’s easy rounds on JB’s Hot Stuff into seventh.

Amy Inglis posted an easy double clear in the under 25 1.40m two-phase to take sixth on the 14-year-old Upsilon Van De Heffinck/Beach Boy mare Every Way, 2.97 sec behind the winner. Clear and four dropped Jake Saywell and the Cicero Z 11-year-old Havinia Van De Roshoeve from a possible second to 12th.

A steady clear in the 46-strong 5* 1.50m speed put Louise Saywell and Ushuaia D’Aurel into 17th, 10 sec behind the winner, France’s Philippe Rozier on Reveur De Kergane.
