Lauren Edwards claims victory in Vilamoura

Brits filled the top three places in the six-year-old in Vilamoura, Portugal, headed by Lauren Edwards on Breit Star.

Twenty-six contended this 1.35m two-phase but Lauren had victory sewn up with Andy Doswell’s Breitling LS/Sir Corlands mare Breit Star, taking the win by 0.26 sec.

Vanessa Jobson-Scott slotted Muna VD Bisschop (Windows VH Costers/Nabab De Reve) with Emily Ward third aboard Tilla Flamenco (Je T’Aime Flamenco/Hattrick). Colin Keeling claimed fifth on Mistral V/D Roshoeve with Sophie Fawcett’s Billy Jackson sixth and Lauren also took seventh on second ride Carumba. Emma Stoker returned just one time fault for ninth on Grand Stakkato.

Laura Renwick had to settle for second in the seven-year-old, the home-bred Arkuga (Arko/Heartbreaker) finishing 0.78 sec behind the winner, France’s Julien Gonin on Carrat D’Alleriat Z.

Sophie Fawcett guided Diamino Blue (Diarado/Chacco-Blue) into sixth and Emma Stoker posted the steadiest of the clears for eighth on Balzane De Mazes (Kannan/Nidor Platiere). Laura and Sharon Whiteway’s Novita Jovial Z was the fastest four, dropping from second to ninth.
