Yazmin Pinchen jumps to the top in Mijas
Yazmin Pinchen jumped to the top in Thursday’s master 1.40m with Con Chilli on week two of the Costa del Sol tour in Mijas, Spain.
Ninety-two contended this hot speed class, with Yazmin on the Con Air 12-year-old galloping ahead to take the class by 1.16 sec. Laura Renwick eased the promising seven-year-old Alothain De Blondel into third and Yazmin also picked up eighth on second ride Ashkari. Jamie Gornall was also clear on Carsten for 15th spot.
Laura picked up two of the top five places in the master 1.45m speed, taking third on the nine-year-old Utrillo De Breve just 0.39 sec off the pace. She guided the Obos Quality nine-year-old MHS Washington into fifth and Louise Whitaker claimed 10th on Udget Du Rozel. Yazmin rode Dominant H into 11th and Van De Vivaldi took 20th just behind Louise’s second ride Ruby VIII in 19th.
Brits filled three of the top four places in the five-year-old, Lauren Edwards taking the win on the consistent Breit Star. Lauren and the Breitling LS/Sir Corland mare took a commanding win with almost three and a half sec to spare over Charlotte Geddes and Bonmahon Major Blue. Millicent Kelly was also clear in this speed class on Rinwood Viktor V for fourth place. Four faults dropped Lauren and Carumba to 14th spot.
Morgan Kent slotted LSS Barbados into second in the six-year-old speed, the Balou Du Rouet/Errigal Flight six-year-old finishing with 0.52 sec in hand. Joanne Whitaker returned a steadier clear on G.Millfield Gizelle for 13th spot.
Julie Welles posted another good clear on Shaw Far Stud's talented SFS Vincomte (Veni Vidi Vici/Magic Darco) in the seven-year-old speed to finish eighth more than six sec adrift of the winning time.
