Graham Babes takes a win in St Lo

Graham Babes jumped to the top in the 2* 1.40m in St Lo, France, in fine style on the consistent Boucheron.

Sixty-nine contended this speed class but Graham had all the shortcuts sewn up to guide the Valentino DDH 11-year-old to win with a 1.74 sec advantage. Louise Saywell guided Hashtag into a steady clear for 23rd.

Louise Saywell was just a fraction of a sec behind to be denied a win in the 3* 1.35m in St Lo, France, guiding Graham Ward’s Feigtling into second by 0.29 sec. Nicole Pavitt jumped the Whitesnake eight-year-old Escapado S into eighth and Kirstie Leightley picked up ninth on Thais D’La Verriere in the 85-strong class.

Graham jumped into third in the 1.25m on Candela VH Slagershof Z, the eight-year-old finishing 0.79 sec behind the pace. Louise Alston was also clear on Mack The Knife for 21st.

Graham also picked up 10th in the 2* 1.40m on Boucheron, four faults in the 17-strong jump-off dropping them down the line.

Skye Higgon was best Brit in the 3* 1.45m with sixth on the eight-year-old selle Francias mare Ushuaia Du Thot in the 17-strong jump-off, jumping double clear to finish eight sec behind the pace. Clear and four dropped Louise and Lady Lou down to 11th.
