Guy Williams is a winner in Dunkerque
Guy Williams was at his speedy best in Dunkerque, France, topping the 1.35m accumulator with Joker to win by 2.28sec with Casper De Muze. Guy also posted maximum points on second ride Thais D’La Verrerie to take fourth. Ben Clark was another maximum on Valentino to take 13th.
Rose Moss eased the 10-year-old Carlos F into second in the 1.40m, finishing 1.29sec behind the winner. Four faults dropped Steven Franks into ninth on Abdul Aziz.
Steven and Abdul Aziz were the only Brits to reach the seven strong jump-off of the 1.45m grand prix, but four faults dropped them to sixth place. Guy Williams returned a fast four in round one for ninth on Cantho Z.
Ronnie Jones, a winner already with Realt Na Carraig, maintained his winning form in Saturday’s 1.10m with the seven-year-old Derawley Lady by 0.38sec. Kerry Grimster was also clear in this speed class on Galahad for 13th.
Ronnie also picked up second on the 13-year-old Realt Na Carraig in Sunday’s 1.35m, 1.58sec behind the winner. Graham Babes finished eighth in the eight-strong jump-off on Candela VH Slagershof Z and Tony Pearson finished ninth on one time fault with Lightning 67.
Lola Wade Jumped clear in round four of the puissance on Shannondale Linnet but retired in round five to finish equal third.
Four faults dog to the Brits in the 1.30m speed but they were bunched together down the line, Rose Moss finished eighth and 10th on Weston and Caliva with Ben Clark and Jancovica in ninth and Graham Babes in 11th Eccosse.
Ben Clark and the 11-year-old Calista jumped double clear in the 1.15m for 14th place.
