Robert Murphy maintained his winning form in de Peelbergen, Kronenberg, the Netherlands, with another convincing victory on the consistent Del Fuego.
Seventeen of the 60 starters posted round one clears in the 2* 1.40m but Robert – already winner of day one’s 1.40m – took charge finding the shortest route on Catherine Witt’s Murano 14-year-old Del Fuego to take the class with a full second in hand. Leonora Smee was also clear and in the jump-off with Waltons Top Flight but 16 in round two dropped them to 16th.
Sally Hopkinson jumped into sixth in the 2* 1.35m group one speed on the 13-year-old Quontime De La Roque (Kannan/Quidam De Revel) 5.05 sec behind the winner.
In the group two competition, Ashlee Harrison posted an easy clear on the Dollar Dela Pierre 11-year-old Sunshine De La Love to finish in 10th some eight sec behind the pace.
Sally was also double clear in the 1.30m on the seven-year-old Crystal Clear, but their steady pace saw them finish down the line in the 97-strong class.
Robert was also penalty-free in the young horse 1.30m/1.35m on SFS Harriet, the Arko’s Boy/Cartano six-year-old taking 11th spot 2.25 sec behind the winning time in a 24-strong jump-off. Scott Brash jumped for one time fault in round one on exciting new ride Hello Franklin (Billy Mexico/Goodtimes) to take 25th.
