Paul Kennedy takes a win in Opglabbeek

British-based Irishman Paul Kennedy claimed the top spot of the 2* 1.35m with Dave Quigley’s Luikan Q.  Fifty-six contended this speed class with Paul racing ahead on the eight-year-old Luikan to win with 1.39 sec in hand. 

Paul also claimed fifth in the 74-strong 1.40m two-phase with Destiny Second Life Z, the the seven-year-old Diamant De Semilly/Cassini I mare finishing four sec behind the pace. 

William Whitaker jumped the steadiest of the double clears for 19th on Justin Van de Zandhoeve and Nicole Pavitt posted a quick four faults in the second phase to drop Gemmarco 16 from second to 20th. 

Four faults in the second phase of the 89-strong 1.45m dropped Nicole Pavitt and the Whitesnake eight-year-old Escapado S from fourth to 11th. Belgium’s Nathan Budd took the win on Balder Van De Katelijnkouter.

Jake Aston posted a steady double clear in the 1.30m two-phase for 20th on India Van Orshof, and Nicole picked up four faults in the seven-year-old speed on the Cicero Z Can Paemel gelding Flavio for 18th.
