Chloe Winchester used her opening draw to set a sizzling – and unbeatable – target to win the Addington Manor talenseekers final on Sportsfield Our Clare.
“She’s amazing, she was only jumping at 1.20m in April and we thought she’d step up to 1.30m, but she’s just kept stepping up and found more scope at each level,” said a delighted Chloe.
Six reached the jump-off with first-off Chloe claiming the class.
“She’s pony-like but with a massive stride and she tries so hard, always gives that bit more and has exceeding all our expectations - this time last year she'd just had a foal,” said Chloe on the 10-year-old Irish mare.
Louise Saywell eased the Cayado-sired Mac Uwe into second 1.39 sec in arrears to take the top seven-year-old place.
Mac Uwe was bought by Old Lodge at auction in Germany last year and joined Louise in June.
“He’s playful and a bit of a lad, he was gelded late and you can tell, sometimes he finds it all a bit too easy and doesn’t concentrate, he’s rather buck and squeal,” said Louise, who posted the only other double clear.
Bumble Thomas slotted Aramis into third with Matt Sampson taking fourth on Ebolensky, Louise Whitaker and Udget Du Rozel claiming fifth and Helen Tredwell filling sixth spot with Remi Argentux.
