Laura Mantel continues on her good form in Bonheiden

Laura Mantel maintained her good form in Bonheiden, Belgium, with third in the 1.45m on Liz Howes’ home-bred mare Glory B V.

Fourteen from 35 starters tackled the jump-off after providing round one clears, with Laura returning a little over a second behind the winning time on the Caretino Glory/Animo 10-year-old for third.

France’s Gregory Cottard again took the win on A Futee De Wy. Rose Moss was also double clear on Carlos F to slot the 10-year-old into eighth and Graham Babes incurred four faults on the Valentino DDH 11-year-old Boucheron for ninth.

Laura also claimed third in the 1.35m speed on NPS Andre, the Nederland F/Animo eight-year-old finishing 1.31 sec behind the winning time. Katinka Brogaard was also clear and rode the 10-year-old Charonda into sixth. Four faults dropped Rose Moss and Caliva down to 15th.

Graham eased Sandra Low Mitchell’s Eccosse into third in the 1.40m speed, the Berlin nine-year-old crossing the line 2.67 sec behind the pace.

Katinka jumped into second in the five-year-old with Hotline Indoctro/Heartbreaker), finishing 1.54 sec behind the winner.

And Karl Robins achieved similar results in the six-year-old, taking the runner-up spot on G Camille HBF 1.38 sec behind the pace. Katinka was sixth on this occasion with a double clear on Galveston G.

Ellie Mantel jumped into third in the 1.10m with Nikko. Only two double clears were achieved in this two-phase class, Ellie and the Animo/Darco 14-year-old producing the fastest four in the second phase for third place.

Julia Hardy claimed sixth in the 1.20m speed aboard the eight-year-old Jizebelle Van D’Oude Bosh more than four sec behind the winner. Rosie Anne Bell was also clear for 11th on Cadwallader.
