Laura Renwick jumps to the top in Vilamoura
Laura Renwick jumped to the top in the 3* 1.45m speed with Bintang in the first of the big classes in week two of the Vilamoura tour in Portugal.
Seventy-nine contended this hard-fought class but Laura found all the shortcuts on the Tangelo Van De Zuuthoeve/Orlando 11-year-old to claim a win with 1.80 sec in hand over the Netherlands’ Lisa Nooren with Dienellie.
Emma Stoker guided the Cartoon 12-year-old Townhead Campus into sixth with Harry Charles just a tenth of a sec behind for seventh on Vivaldi Du Dom. Harriet Nuttall slotted A touch Imperious into 10th and also clear was Jude Burgess on Comeback De Fremis for 13th and Billy Twomey finished 15th on Pewit Nono.
Jess Mendoza scored a win in the 3* 1.35m speed with Wan Architect, the 14-year-old gelding racing ahead to take the class by 0.93 sec. Megan Williams guided the Heartbreaker 11-year-old Bordeaux into third 1.76 sec behind the winner. George Whitaker eased Flip into fourth with Alex Rident in sixth aboard Come Back. Chloe Astonwas also clear with a steady round on J Adore VD Keihoeve for 19th in the 94-strong class.
Abbe Elliott (nee Burchmore Eames) also claimed a win, taking the 1.30m speed on the Lupicor 10-year-old Casti Aneira with 2.77 sec to spare. Abbe also took fifth with Eleonora III and Louis Frost jumped into 11th on De Pokemon. Jaime Marsh was waslo clear to take 20th on Casaktie.
Chloe Aston popped Fiene into second in the seven-year-old 13-strong jump-off, the Londontimes daughter 1.82 sec behind the winner. Emma Stoker jumped into fourth on the Arko III/Darco stallion Everton De Villee while Jamie Gornall on Count Codex and Jaime Marsh’s One Step Du St Homme also posted double clears for 10th and 11th.
Emma also claimed second in the six-year-old two-phase 1.25m on the Cadensky/Dolla Dela Pierre mare Cool Cash 0.85 sec behind the pace. Jaime Marsh took sixth on Late Night S (Der Senaat/Skippy II) with Megan Williams and Kingdom Come in seventh. Leo Lorimer was also double clear on Liu-Jo Vls for 10th.
