Jamie Wingrove eased Helen Rees’ Bart IV into fourth in the world ranking 4* 1.45m speed on day two in Samorin, Slovakia. Forty-nine contended here with Jamie giving the Lord Z/Levantos 11-year-old an easy ride to finish a little more than three sec behind the winner, Belgium’s Constant van Paesschen on Compadre Van De Helle. Alex Rident jumped a steady round on Ucello Massuere for two time faults and 17th place.
Second on day one, Olivia Skinner went one better 24 hours later to head the 2* 1.25m two-phase, guiding the Concorde 11-year-old Sir Henry IV to a handsome win. The pair claimed victory by 0.72 sec. Olivia also claimed 10th in the concluding 1.35m accumulator, the Corland 10-year-old Cinderella IV finishing on maximum points 14 sec behind the winner.
Lance Whitehouse dismissed all challenges to hold on to the top spot of the seven-year-old with Bazento, the Argento/Quincy Z stallion claiming the 30-strong speed class by 0.21 sec. Jamie slotted Heartstring (Cicero Z Van Paemel/Heartbreaker) into fifth three sec in arrears.
Giorgia Distefano on the Discasi five-year-old Dincky Toy Z and Lance with the home-bred Peppermill six-year-old Whitesparke Pepper both posted clears to finish equal first in the young horse five/six-year-old.
One time penalty in the first phase prevented Giorgia from going into phase two and Cassia DS had to settle for 16th in the 1* 1.30m.
