July 19, 2017

Adrian Speight secured a second finalist place with Gorky at the Stoneleigh National Championships with victory in the Nupafeed Supplements discovery second round at Port Royal.

The on-form pair, who qualified for the British novice final a month ago at Willow Banks, again hit the top spot, outpacing his 28 rivals.

After two rounds, ten reached the final jump-off, with Adrian and the Indorado 11-year-old Gorky winning by a commanding nine sec.

Katie Jo Lindley guided the Contago/Riverman eight-year-old Contaire into second with Lisa Whitaker and the 12-year-old Pauldarys Flick Flack daughter Pauldarys Vittoria in third.

Six riders posted treble clears to gain finalist qualification with Kirsty Hardstaff in fourth on the Handel/Contiki seven-year-old Remi Latika ahead of fifth-placed Lynne Montgomerie aboard the 11-year-old Gold Fever VH and Julia Nelson in sixth on the five-year-old Huzaar II.
