Katherine Wright claimed a commanding victory on Adelaide II in the Horseware bronze league qualifier at Crofton Manor Equestrian Centre.
An initial 33 bid for the three semi-final qualifying places to be held in August, and just six survived to gain access to the jump-off. Katherine had the final round sewn up, storming to victory on the Ragazzo nine-year-old mare Adelaide to win with a handsome 5.63 sec in hand.
Gayle White slotted the 10-year-old Easy Choice into second.
Jacqueline Menzies claimed third aboard Sultan V (Irco Mena/Voltaire), a now 15-year-old bred in Britain by Old Lodge, produced by her husband Bruce and winner of the HOYS 2009 Foxhunter final before going on to compete in the London 2012 Olympics with Saudi Arabia’s Abdullah Al Sharbatly.
Robert Legg jumped to the top in the silver league qualifier aboard Explosion W, a Cavalier/Heartbreaker eight-year-old he has ridden for 18 months.
Also qualifying for the August semi-finals was Lowri Ball on the seven-year-old mare Kandia Van De Brouwershoeve (Grand Cru VD Vijfeiken/Upsilon Van De Heffinck) in second and third-placed Lily Bradstock on the King Kolibri/Voltaire 10-year-old Ceriska.
