June 9, 2017

Laura Renwick hit immediate form in Hardelot 3*, France, heading day one’s 1.45m with the Heartbreaker/Indorado nine-year-old Dominant H to finish with a 0.23 sec advantage.  William Funnell was hot on her heels for second aboard Billy Angelo in the 54-horse speed class.

There was no stopping Laura.   After claiming second on day one, she guided Bintang to the top spot in the second day’s 72-strong 1.40m speed by 0.84 sec to again relegate William down to second, on this occasion riding Calido.  Louise Simpson returned a steadier clear on the Valentino eight-year-old The Jeweller for ninth spot.

Laura had jumped into second in day one’s 1.35m on Bintang, the Tangelo Van De Zuuthoeve 11-year-old finishing 0.76 sec behind the winner, France’s Jerome Hurel on Viamdios D’Avril.  Louise Simpson was close behind to slot the Nonstop 12-year-old Fiona V/H Lemmenshof into third.  Laura also posted a steadier round on the eight-year-old Top Dollar VI for 11th and Nicole Pavitt was also double clear to take 15th on Shahenaz in the 80-strong class.

Nicole was also in the money. Just 0.12 sec denied her victory in day two’s 1.50m, the Chellano Z 12-year-old Shahenaz slotting into second in the 14-horse jump-off, won by France’s Marie Hecart on Cenwood Della Lame. Laura also jumped a round one clear by eight faults in the jump-off dropped Dominant H to 14th.

Polly Shaw netted 13th on Golden Grove AIT A in the amateur 1.20m and Giorgia Distefano was also double clear for 21st on Good Girl.
