Chloe Aston gallops to a win in Bethune

Brits lifted three of the top four places in the 3* 1.35m in Bethune, France. Chloe Aston and the ultra-consistent Amigo T topped this 50-strong speed class in fine style, the Padinus 12-year-old claiming a 0.71 sec advantage.

Nicole Pavitt chased hard to finish second with the Diamant De Semilly 10-year-old Hussah TM and her sister Louise Simpson claimed fourth aboard the eight-year-old The Jeweller. Tim Stockdale took ninth on Tornado Des Monts with Nicole on second ride Shahenaz in 12th and Laura Renwick picked up 15th aboard Top Dollar VI.

Four faults in round one put the Brits out of the running in the 1.50m, Laura Renwick on the nine-year-old MHS Washington and Louise with the 11-year-old Grafit finishing 10th and 11th respectively. Nicole on Areeb OL and Lance Whitehouse’s Vik returned on five faults. Colombia’s Rene Lopez took the win on Con Dios III from France’s Nicolas Delmott on Darmani Van T Heike by 0.54 sec in the eight-strong jump-off.

Laura eased into second place in the 1.35m section A with the Newton De Kriesker/Heartbreaker seven-year-old Alothain De Blondel. They finished 3.12 sec behind the winner, France’s Thomasd Rousseau on Urbane De Ribaudiere in the 52-strong speed class. Steven Franks guided the Diamant De Semilly 13-year-old Abdul Aziz into fourth and Chloe Aston finished sixth on the 14-year-old Figaro.

Jessica Graham jumped an easy double clear in the 1* 1.30m for 11th on the Heritage Fortunas nine-year-old HHS Faldo, finishing seven sec behind the winner. Charlotte Graham and Frisbee were slightly steadier for 14th.

Charlotte Graham jumped into second in the 1.15m with the Billy Congo 11-year-old Billy On Form, 1.65 sec behind the pace. Lara Whiteway eased the Contender 13-year-old Bellagio II into fourth with Charlotte Alpin also jumping clear on Delanini for 13th.
