Helen Tredwell takes two HOYS talentseekers tickets at Bicton

Helen Tredwell finished Bicton’s five day spectacular on a high with two HOYS talentseekers tickets in the bag.

A total of eighty competitors contended the talentseekers to chase the four HOYS qualifying tickets on offer. But Helen had the winning spot tied up with tight lines and all the short-cut options on Balouetta, Phil Tuckwell’s home-bred Balou Du Rouet/Concorde 10-year-old.

Helen’s second qualifying place came with Galtur – another bred by Phil by Cornet’s Stern and the son of the winner, Balouetta. The pair finished ninth, but bagged the HOYS place as best-placed seven-year-old.

Mark Edwards continued on his recent run of form – winner of the HOYS newcomers here on Montreuxs Tale – with second on Charlotte Watt’s eight-year-old Greenvale Cara.

“She’s so careful, still green but finding more and more jump,” said Mark on the mare he has ridden for 12 months.

Danielle Farnsworth jumped into third with Claddagh Iroko, Rosie Preston's Irish-bred Iroko/Cruising 10-year-old previously ridden by Alex Thompson before moving to Danielle last September.

Helen also picked up fourth place with her earlier 1.40m winner Remi Argentux (Argentinus/Lux) but missed out on qualification as the fourth qualifying place went to the seven-year-old Galtur.
