Tracy Walker is on the Trailblazers trail
Tracy Walker is off to the SEIB Trailblazers finals after a win in the 95cm at Vale View Equestrian centre on Whitechurch Billy.
“It’s such a surprise, I’m usually very nervous about competing after having a hip replacement in 2015,” said mum of two Tracy, who also picked up 85cm qualification with third place.
The 13-year-old 16.2hh former hunter and eventer Whitechurch Billy was bought three years ago.
Competing in Trailblazers is a first for Tracy as she is usually too busy ferrying her two daughters Connie and Lilly to local shows. All three are members of Rearsby Lodge riding club, and Tracy had come to this show on form, competing for the team at Rockingham the week before to win the individual 90cm and claim third in the teams.
Jumping lessons with Jo Holmes-Cole has given Tracy confidence to go up a level and compete in Trailblazers and she is now looking forward to the championships.
“I’ve been to Stoneleigh before for a riding club event with the girls, now they are going to be my grooms and cheer me on,” said Tracy.
Also picking up 95cm qualification was Jo Ball on Redweld Flyer in second, third-placed Lois McKay aboard Whaymans Pride and Madeline Weston in fourth on Few Scoops.
Coole Rudkin won the 85cm with Just One Look and Emily Slater claimed second riding Wellspring Pride.
