Peter Charles is denied victory by a fraction in Wierden

Just 0.46 sec denied Peter Charles a win in the 2* 1.45m in Wierden, Netherlands. He guided the highly-rated OBOS Quality/Cruising eight-year-old ABC Quantum Cruise into second in the 11-strong world ranking jump-off. Only The Netherlands’ Julian de Boer and Carollo proved faster for victory.

And Peter’s son Harry stepped up to the plate, jumping into fourth place on Valkiry De Zance, another talented eight-year-old with Diamant De Semilly/Double Espoir bloodlines. They were just 1.62 sec behind the winner. Nigel Coupe was denied a jump-off chance with four faults in round one on Jubilee III.

Remy Ellis jumped into sixth in the 1* 1.30m speed on the Clinton/Chin Chin seven-year-old Flinton CN, 4.30 sec behind the pace.

Clear and four dropped Sienna Charles on the 10-year-old Chaitanya 2 (Cartani/Athlet Z) down the line to 16th in the 2* 1.40m. Deborah Jackson finished in 20th place on Chin Champ.

Jumping steady, educational double clears in the 1* 1.20m put James Billington on Kashmir Van Schuttershof eight-year-old Efodea into 16th and Deborah Jackson aboard the Stakkato six-year-old Swing De Landetta Z into 20th spot.
