British-based Lucinda Roche – who rides for Ireland – rounded off a great show at Magna Racino in Ebreichsdorf, Austria, with a third win aboard the Darco/Gold Sky 10-year-old Hebe Van’t Palmenhof.
The pair headed the bronze tour 1.25m final speed with a 0.56 sec advantage over Britain’s Ashley Ray on the Quite Easy/Ralme Z 10-year-old mare Quite A Flower. Ireland’s Shane O’Reilly slotted Fort Blue into seventh with Ashley on second ride Care For in 10th.
Ireland’s Roger McCrea claimed fifth in the silver 1.30m final on the eight-year-old Clinton stallion Jazz’Men De Septon, finishing more than two sec behind the winner. Lucinda eased the eight-year-old mare Izar LB into ninth and Roger also picked up 10th on Faltic HB.
A steady round from Shane and the Ustinov eight-year-old Elvira finished 11th in the gold 1.35m final.
Four faults in round one dropped Lucinda and WCE Falco down to 13th in the Platinum tour 1.40m final. In the diamond 1.45m final, Shane O’Reilly returned on five faults to drop Uno Du Thot to 16th.
