Julie Andrews is a close second in the Drammen Derby
Less than two sec denied Julie Andrews a win in the Drammen 1.45m speed Derby in Norway, the Oklund 14-year-old Wilando B galloping home clear but having to settle for second place.
Twenty-one took part with Julie and the eager Wilando B finishing 1.67 sec behind the winner, Sweden’s Irma Karlsson on Balahe. Four faults pushed Jess Dimmock and the 10-year-old mare Cudansa M down into ninth.
Julie picked up 10th in the gold tour 1.40m final with the promising Billy Congo seven-year-old Billy Cointreau with a steady clear. Harriet Nuttall and Silver Lift posted the fastest four faults, the rail on the floor proving costly and dropping the pair from a possible1.78 sec victory to 12th.
Alison Barton took 10th in the 23-strong 3* 1.40m jump-off on Donata with a double clear more than four sec behind the pace. And four faults dropped Alison and the 11-year-old Billy Anna down to 11th in the silver medium tour final 1.30m speed.
