Nicole Pavitt is in the money in Maubeuge

Nicole Pavitt jumped into second in the 3* 1.35m in Maubeuge, France, with Areeb OL. Nicole and the Cornet Obolensky daughter made a tremendous effort but just finished short of the target – 0.08 sec in arrears. Lance Whitehouse rode into fourth on Cartino III and Laura Renwick picked up fourth on Top Dollar VI. William Whitaker opted for steady and sure on the Lord Z mare Ilusionata van’t Meulenhof for 20th.

Jemma Kirk was best Brit in the world ranking 1.50m speed on Quelisto, crossing the line just 0.27 sec behind the winner, but such was the competition, it put them in seventh. Lance Whitehouse picked up one time fault on Vik II for 15 th and Laura Renwick was the fastest of the lot on Heliodor Hybris, breaking the beam almost two sec in front of the winner, but the Diamant de Semilly gelding hit one rail to drop to 16th.

Nicole eased her home-bred Don VHP Z/Quo Vadis mare Paris 16 into third in the seven-year-old 1.30m speed. Thirty-nine participated with Nicole finishing 1.05 sec behind the winner. Lance Whitehouse returned a steadier round for eighth on the Argento-sired Bazento.

Melissa Garry galloped the Lord Z/Heartbreaker mare Hotesse into third in the 1.20m four and a half sec behind the pace.
