Jamie Wingrove is in the money in Oliva Nova

Jamie Wingrove guided the Wells family’s Heartstring (Cicero Z van Paemel/Heartbreaker) into second in the seven-year-old in Oliva Nova on the Spring MET IV tour in Spain. They had to settle for the runner-up spot behind the winner, Ireland’s Clem McMahon on the home-bred Hilton Alibi (Pacino/Hermes de Reve), 1.69 sec in arrears. Four faults in round one put Stuart Neads and Freya in 15th.

British-based Irishman Barry Drea eased My Lady OL (Armitage 2/Landlord) in the third in the six-year-old, finishing almost two sec behind the winner, New Zealand’s Lisa Cubitt on Oaks Clovelly. Jamie was also double clear on Genesis HB (Carrera VDL/Wittinger VDL) for sixth.

A rail down in the second round dropped Carmen Edwards down to fifth with Happy Valerie (Verdi/Dutchboy). Germany’s Stehi de Boer took the win on Community 3. Barry on Okehirst Mr Mexico and Carmen on second ride SHW Candies B also posted four faults for ninth and 11th.
