Jessie Drea is in the mix in Oliva Nova

Brits were bunched together in Oliva Nova's gold 1.35m, but none could catch Italy’s Filippo Tabarini, who sped ahead to win by 2.78 sec. Jessie Drea claimed second on the Ard VDL Douglas/Clover Hill 13-year-old Javas Wild Child with Jamie Wingrove coming in third on Kevin Sleap’s Conterno Grande nine-year-old Dumolga and also slotting Helen Rees’ 11-year-old Bart VI into fifth. Maisie Drea was sandwiched into fourth on the 13-year-old Kinkeen Diamond.

Jamie was best Brit with eighth in the 1.45m on the 11-year-old Truman 9 (Cartani/Quick Star), eight faults in the nine-strong jump-off dropping them down the line. Ireland’s Clem McMahon dominated, taking the top two places with the Aldato nine-year-old Aldaluck and the eight-year-old stallion Pacifico (Pacino/Aldatus Z). Cressy Neads cleared every pole in round one but picked up a frustrating time fault on Chinta van Geluut Z for 10th. Four faults in the 11-strong silver 1.40m jump-off dropped Jamie and Ephonie P from victory to seventh.

Imogen Beecroft landed the top two places in the bronze 1.15m. She galloped ahead of all rivals in this 34-strong two-phase class to win on the Ontario nine-year-old Roscoe’s Amour and claim second aboard the Andiamo/Lux 16-year-old Untouchable. 1.60 sec separated the two and Imogen was 0.03 sec ahead of Ireland’s Jamie Landers, in third on Geron RS. Emma Holmes was also double clear on Quincy 151 for 10th.

And Imogen’s sister Claire also posted a win, taking the bronze 1.25m accumulator on the Vermont/Indoctro 11-year-old Burgana, winning by 1.28 sec. Olivia Skinner popped the Concorde 11-year-old Sir Henry IV into third with Grace Brown’s Lancer III/Polydor 12-year-old Lanfre in fifth. Also posting maximum scores was Gabriella Horan on Costa III and Will Edwards with Tinkas Brook II for 14th and 16th.

Carmen Edwards eased the Zambesi six-year-old Twinning Hill into seventh in the bronze 1.30m two-phase with an easy double clear. Olivia Skinner was also penalty-free for 10th on the Corland/Quick Star 10-year-old Cinderella IV.
