Anthony Condon is a winner in Eschweiler

Anthony Condon topped the 1.40m speed section B on day one in Eschweiler, Germany, on Kat Taylor’s Balzac. The pair galloped ahead of all rivals, Anthony guiding the Oklund 11-year-old to a 0.66 sec victory. Fellow British-based Irishman David Simpson claimed two places in the top six. He took fourth with the Catoki/Cassini I eight-year-old Keoki and slotted the Celelstiall 13-year-old Chessy 17 into sixth spotLouise Simpson eased Jaffar de Bourguignonin the second in the gold 1.30m, the Lord Z/Darco eight-year-old finishing two sec behind the winner. Anthony took fourth with Lisa Hales and Shaw Farm Stud’s home-bred Arko/Voltaire eight-year-old SFS Arla and fellow Irishman Peter Maloney slotted Babilonia into fifth. Peter also picked up third in the 1.40m speed section A with the Udarco/Kannan 14-year-old D’atlantique Royale, one and half sec behind the pace. James Billington jumped a steadier clear Comfortuna VDL for 12th.
