Chloe Aston hits immediate form in Opglabbeek

Chloe Aston hit the ground running at Sentower Park, Opglabbeek, Belgium, with a commanding win in the 54-strong 2* 1.35m section two – split into two sections due to the enormous entries. Chloe was in speed mode and the Padinus 12-year-old Amigo matched her enthusiasm, and the pair landed the win with almost seven sec in hand over their nearest rivals.

Georgie Crumley and the 10-year-old Moon Zappa (Moon Charm/Zapateado) took third in this speed class with Amy Inglis taking sixth on Amadeouse de Hurtebise. Michael Duffy jumped a steadier clear for 16th on Castleforbes Vilhelmina and also posting clean sheets was Dan Moseley on Escapado S and Aimee Jones with Never Last. Paul Kennedy and Cartown Dangermouse returned on one time fault.

Aimee claimed second in the 1.35m section one, finishing 0.98 sec behind the winner on the Lordanos 11-year-old Lilly 483. Sharon Quigley slotted Adermie 52 into fifth and Michael Duffy was 16th on ESI Hazel. Trevor Breen and the Lord Z/Bon Ami 10-year-old Bombay jumped steadily to pick up one time fault and Theo Simpson posted a similar result on Touch of Chilli.

John Crippen took fourth in the 2* 1.30m on the eight-year-old Veyron Lassergut, finishing 3.19 sec behind the winner. Theo Simpson was right behind for fifth on the 12-year-old Alvin Only.

Orla Morrin recorded a win in the 1.20m on the Askari 10-year-old Adonis, jumping to the top with 1.10 sec in hand. Will Lewis picked up 10th on Titanic de Moisenais and also jumping double clear was Camilla Bingham on Sportsfield Fleurie and Emma Shingles on Torino.

Amy Inglis jumped into 11th in the seven-year-old with a double clear on Kimosa van het Kritrahof. Ireland’s Trevor Breen jumped steady rounds for 16th and 19th on the Zirocco Blue VDL-sired Feliano B and the Eurocommerce Washington son Franklin. Also providing clean sheets in this strong class was Dan Moseley (Arrogant un Prince), Michael Duffy (Au Top des Luthiers) and Simon Davies (Pampelonne)

Gillian Bilborough jumped an easy double clear for 13th on Grace in the six-year-old, and Helen Tredwell was right behind for 14th on Fidibus. Dan Moseley picked up two time faults in the second phase on Berdennde Kergane for 20th place.

And Ella Quigley returned a double clear on the seven-year-old Grass to take 12th in the 1.10m.
