Graham Babes jumps to a win in France

Fresh from his success in Mijas, Graham Babes went into winning mode at Cagnes-sur-Mer, France, and claimed victory in the five and six-year-old on Ma Fleur JS. The Emerald van Ruytershof daughter answered every call to take the five-year-old speed by 1.73 sec.

And Graham rode also picked up places in the other age classes. He rode into third in the six-year-old speed on Glencoe, finishing 2.57 sec behind the winner. He also picked up fourth in the seven-year-old on the Verdi-sired Farao M, 2.79 sec in arrears. Louise Saywell posted a steady clear here on Luigi for 15th.

Alex Rident eased Come Back into fifth in the 58-strong 1.45m two-phase, crossing the line 1.49 sec behind the pace.

In Arezzo, Italy, Mackenzie Ray rode into fifth spot in the six-year-old 1.20/1.25m speed on Oakingham Stud’s Diarado/Raphael gelding Directeur, six sec behind the pace. British-based Irishman Roger McCrea, also riding for Oakingham Stud, jumped a steadier clear on Di Caprio (Diarado/Cassini I) for 12th place.

Roger claimed sixth and eighth in the seven-year-old 1.30m two-phase with the Diamant de Semilly/Carthago stallion Davinci VD Bosrand Z and Anis de la Piece (Norway de la Lande/Shaliman du Thot), finishing six sec off the pace.
