Louise Saywell is denied a win by a fraction in Cagnes-sur-Mer
Louise Saywell guided Feigtling into second in Cagnes-sur-Mer’s 1.40m, the Chicago Z/Darco gelding finishing just 0.54 sec behind the winner, France’s Nicolas Delmotte on Victorio de la Bride. Shane Breen was also double clear on Brendon Stud’s Fabrice van Overis (For Pleasure/Diamant de Semilly) for fourth. Also posting steady double clears was Shane on second ride CSF Vendi Cruise for 16th and Alex Rident on Ucello Massuere in 23rd.
Graham Babes made a successful move from Mijas in Spain to Cagnes-sur-Mer, France, to claime first and third in the five and six-year-old speed. He pushed the five-year-old Emerald van Ruytershof/Cassini II Ma Fleur JS into 1.49 victory and clinched third spot on the Diarado/Quidam de Revel mare Disco Fever JT Z.
Alex jumped into fourth in the 1* 1.30m with the German-bred nine-year-old Come Back (Chinta/Lightning), 2.46 sec behind the winner.
Shane eased Brendon Stud’s Warratino (Warrior/Caretino Glory) into seventh in the seven-year-olds, almost five sec behind the winner. Shane also posted a steady clear on the Typhoon S-sired Freezing Rain for 20th and Louise Saywell jumped into 21 st on Luigi (Luidam/Clinton).
Four faults in the six and seven-year-old speed dropped Graham to 14th and 18th on Glencoe and Farao M.
