Anna powers to a win in Mijas

Anna Power galloped to the top of the Costa del Sol tour’s Master 1.40m two-phase in Mijas, Spain, with the big-jumping Chesterfield Z.  The Chippendale Z/Sir Corland 11-year-old outpaced all his 61 rivals to take the win 0.29 sec, beating the on-form Francois Mathy Jr into second on Uppercut de Bay. 

Graham Babes slotted the Vantentino DDH/Burggraaf 11-year-old Boucheron into third with fellow Brits Adrian Whiteway in fourth aboard Carambow and Steven Franks’ Abdul Aziz in fifth.  Sammie-Jo Coffin took seventh on Simply Splendid with Graham on second ride Calvade de Pikkarie Z in eighth in this hotly-contended class.  Anna also picked up 10th with Edison V, Stacey Babes was 16th on Cazador LS and Henry Truelove posted the steadiest double clear for 20th on Colanda Z.

Brits lifted three of the top four places of the Master 1.30m speed, Lara Whiteway galloping ahead of her rivals on the 13-year-old Bellagio II (Contender/Lascadell) to win by 1.47 sec.  Steven Franks popped Billy Ginger (Billy Congo/Gladstone) into second with Sammie-Jo Coffin and Willem de Lux in fourth.  Adrian Whiteway guided the Corofino/Lux eight-year-old Enrico into an easy jumping clear but picked up a time fault for eighth spot.

 

Sienna Charles was denied victory in the Premium 1.40m gold by the tiniest fraction, finishing just 0.08 sec on the Cartani 10-year-old Chaitanya 2 to have to settle for second place.  Switzerland’s Valentine Petit-Jean and Coco von Hof CH took the win in the six-horse decider.

 

 

Sammie-Jo Coffin topped the Premium 1.20m on Church Park Venus, guiding the Maximillian Voltucky/Hamlet six-year-old into a 2.87 sec win.  Olivia Howe was also double clear for fourth on Corsiro Z.

Helena Cassir claimed second in the seven-year-old, finishing 1.07 sec behind the winning time on Aidy des Forets (Orlando/Adagio).  Stacey Babes picked up one time fault in the first phase for seventh on Flairvona and her brother Graham guided Farao M into 12th on four.

 

Alex Gill guided the Nintender nine-year-old The Drawness into fifth in the Premium 1.40m, almost two sec behind the winner.  Four faults dropped Steven Franks and Amethyst into 11th.  

Honor Draycott finished in third in the Premium 1.30m speed on the Lux Z 10-year-old Lux de Lux, 1.57 sec behind the pace.  Holly Truelove was fifth on Golly Girl with Olivia Howe in sixth on Black Label.  Four faults dropped Sammie-Jo Coffin from a possible second to 22nd on Devils Kiss.

Skye Klein eased the Lucky Boy/Nimmerdor eight-year-old Eleana V into third in the 1.10m speed, their steady round finishing 17 sec behind the winner.  Four faults dropped Francesca Draycott and Fernhill Fair Cruise to seventh.
