Robert Smith misses victory by a fraction in Mijas

Just 0.35 sec denied Robert Smith victory in the world ranking Master 1.45m on the Costa del Sol tour, Mijas.

Sixty-six contended this speed class and, repeating his win of 24 hours earlier, Belgium’s Francois Mathy Jr claimed the win on Falco van de Clehoeve. Robert had to settle for second on the Unaniem/Chemnitz 10-year-old Cimano E. William Funnell slotted Billy Fanta (Vechta/Cevin Z) into sixthwith Anna Power on Crack van Overis Z in 11th just ahead of Harry Charles and Valkiry de Zance in 12th. Max Routledge jumped Sieco into 14th with Peter Charles taking 15th on ABC Quantum Cruise and Stacey Babes in 20th on Quilimbo.

Sammie-Jo Coffin jumped to the top in the Master 1.35m speed on the Lupicor/Ekstein 14-year-old Willem de Lux to win by 1.65 sec. Chloe Smith was 4.40 sec behind for third on the Cento 12-year-old Victoria and four faults dropped Henry Truelove (Colanda Z) and Chris Franks (Monks Grand Prix) to 13th and 14th.

Lara Whiteway forged a route straight to the top in the Master 1.30m speed to win on Bellagio II (Contender/Lascadell) by 1.10 sec. Fellow Brit Chris Franks claimed second on Mega Times (Megabyte/Goodtimes) with Steven Franks on Billy Ginger in third. Victoria Shanks took ninth with four faults on Cerosse Z.

In the Premium 1.40m accumulator, Alex Gill and the Nintender/Landadel nine-year-old The Drawness jumped into fifth, 1.52 sec in arrears of the winning time. Sienna Charles guided Chaitanya 2 into sixth on a maximum score and Harry Charles dropped two points on Knoxville for ninth.

Lauren Edwards landed the Premium 1.30m with 0.83 sec to hand on Carnaval Cocktail (Kannan/Carnaval Drum). Honor Draycot slotted Lux de Lux into fifth with Olivia Howe on Black Label in 12th and Max Routledge finished 18th on Centos Girl and 22nd aboard Fifa Paola.

Graham Babes continued his victorious assault on the age classes to claim another win on Glencoe in the six-year-old. The Chellthargo/Numero Uno six-year-old had 0.80 sec to hand to take another win for Graham. Sammie-Jo Coffin claimed sixth on Church Park Venus and Adrian Whiteway rode into eighth on Kimba. Graham also took 10th with the steadiest of the double clears on second ride Disco Fever JT Z and Lauren jumped for clear and four for 12th on Kesara.

Olivia Howe jumped to the top in the 1.20m on Wantos (Cantos/Astronaut) with 2.18 sec to spare in the 10-strong jump-off. Fellow Brit Lara Whiteway took second on the Classido/Landgraf nine-year-old Galizano and Rachael Williams posted the steadiest double clear for seventh on Figaro.

Amber Stafford moved up a gear to take second on Super Charged (Super Trooper de Ness/Wellngton) in the 1.10m table C speed, four sec behind the pace. Francesca Draycott netted fifth on Fernhill Fair Cruise and Skye Klein finished ninth on Eleana V.
